Intravenous Therapy Certification for RNs and LVN/LPNs that need education and skills lab for competency. Core course competencies include:
The participant will be able to:
Identify and select appropriate veins for commonly used venipuncture sites
Identify IV Therapy risks and complications and perform appropriate nursing interventions
Demonstrate proper documentation of IV Therapy
Demonstrate IV Therapy venipuncture techniques
Discuss relevance of ph and osmolarity related to IV Therapy
Use evidence based resources like Intravenous Nursing Society Standards, polices, BON position statements to make appropriate decisions in a clinical setting.
Customized IV Courses can be performed and curriculum increased to include: IV Push meds, TPN, Blood Administration, Phlebotomy Basic, Blood Administration, Central Line Maintenance & Care, and PICC insertion courses to meet facility’s individual needs and can be done at our site or yours for home health, correctional nursing, doctors offices and other sites
