[Posted on June 18]

Many people take extended leaves of absence for a number of reasons. Women take time off after the birth of a child, employees may need extended time away from work due to health or family related issues and some simply need a break from their daily routines. If you are a nurse who has taken time away from work for whatever reason, PHES can ensure that you have the re-training necessary to confidently re-enter the workforce. We are the nursing school Houston nurses trust to provide them with refresher courses in nursing. We offer board approved coursework that will instruct you on any new techniques or treatments that were introduced during your absence.

A nurse refresher course will help you to feel more confident when treating patients. We offer clinical sites in both the Windsong Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Pearland, TX and the Grace Care Nursing Home in Katy, TX for your practicum. Our classes include an overall review of the nursing field in addition to coursework in anatomy and physiology, administration of medications, pharmacology, physical assessment and other topics. Your instructor will be there to ensure that you are fully prepared for re-entry into the workforce and because our courses are limited to just 20 students per class, you will have the one-on-one attention that you need.

Your RN refresher course will begin with at-home learning. Once you have completed this portion of the learning process you will receive classroom instruction and then move on to clinical work under supervision. We take all the necessary steps to ensure that you have the re-training needed to be confident when dealing with your patients in the future. Your at-home skill reviews are done via DVD followed by lectures and practice in our Skills Labs. Once you have completed your refresher course you will receive a certificate of completion in addition to 20 hours of continued education for your field.

We want you to have the confidence needed to provide stellar medical care to your patients. We offer courses that are designed re-train you so that you can provide your patients with the level of medical care that they deserve. If you have been away from the field of nursing and are ready to once again work in a clinical setting, we are here to help.
